Movie insider Daniel Richtman reports that Sony is planning the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men.
According to the insider, Sony wants to bring both Spider-Men back to the big screen. These characters will become key heroes in their own universe, separate from the MCU. It’s unclear if this universe will be connected to other Sony films, but given the negative reception of “Madame Web,” “Morbius,” and “Venom” by critics and audiences, it’s likely that Sony will prefer not to link the Spider-Men with these films. It seems that Sony has finally realized that making movies set in the Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man himself is not the best idea. Let’s hope that this time the studio will create a truly high-quality film.
Earlier rumors also suggested that both Spider-Men will appear in “Avengers: Secret Wars,” so a “guest appearance” in the MCU by the Spider-Men might still happen.
