According to the Xbox Store, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will occupy 309.85 GB on Xbox Series X/S at launch later this year, making it the largest Call of Duty game to date.
We have become accustomed to games requiring over 100 GB of disk space at launch. Call of Duty fans are especially familiar with large game sizes, considering the extensive history of Warzone updates, which have caused the game to exceed 300 GB on various systems.
Even with this context, the initial size of Black Ops 6 being over 300 GB is quite surprising, particularly given that the game will likely continue to grow with the rapid release of patches and updates typical of Call of Duty games.
At the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 event, the first trailer for the new installment of the iconic shooter series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, was unveiled. The game is set to release on October 25 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, including availability on Game Pass.
The storyline of the campaign focuses on military conflicts in the early 1990s. The trailer features scenes with Saddam Hussein, protests in Russia following the dissolution of the USSR, and U.S. President Bill Clinton.
Raven Software is developing the campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, while Treyarch is handling the online multiplayer and zombie modes. The creators describe the game as a spy thriller with a “mind-bending plot in the best traditions of Black Ops, unbound by any rules.”
