Director Dean DeBlois announced on social media that the filming of the upcoming movie “How to Train Your Dragon” has been completed. The shoot took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lasted 85 days. DeBlois mentioned that while the filming was challenging, it was also exciting, expressing his gratitude to the crew and his satisfaction with every moment of the process.
The film is a live-action adaptation of the original “How to Train Your Dragon” animated movie. It follows the story of a teenager named Hiccup who doesn’t share his tribe’s long-standing tradition of waging war against dragons. Hiccup’s life changes drastically when he meets a dragon named Toothless and realizes that not all dragons pose a threat to his people. However, convincing his tribe of this will prove to be a difficult task.
Dean DeBlois, the creator of the original animated film, serves as the director, screenwriter, and producer for the movie. The main roles are played by Mason Thames, Gabriel Howell, Gerard Butler, Nico Parker, and Julian Dennison. The worldwide premiere of the film is set for June 13, 2025.
