According to Deadline, Quentin Tarantino has teamed up with Jay Glennie to write two books detailing the creation of the films “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Inglourious Basterds.”
Jay Glennie, who has written about the making of films such as “The Deer Hunter,” “Trainspotting,” “Raging Bull,” and others, conducted hours of interviews with Tarantino about “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Inglourious Basterds.” The books will include “unreleased personal photos, behind-the-scenes stories, script drafts, notes and changes, production and location materials, shooting schedules, and much more.” Tarantino will write the foreword for both stories.
“In my collection, I have Jay Glennie’s books. I have read and loved them, especially the one about the making of ‘The Deer Hunter.’ I just know there’s no better guy to dive deep into my films,” Tarantino said in his statement. “My actors, crew, and I enjoyed reliving our time on ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ with Jay, and we all look forward to seeing the finished books. This is just the beginning, as I know Jay, like me, is excited about exploring my other films.”
“It is a great honor for me to write about the films of the greatest director of my generation, Quentin Tarantino,” Glennie said. “I simply can’t wait for Quentin’s millions of fans around the world to read them.”
The two books by Quentin Tarantino are scheduled to be published in the fall of 2025.
